YBM Youth Leadership Institute (YLI) equips youth through college.
YLI is building the new generation of black race by:
- Providing equitable tools and resources for learning
- Developing capabilities to succeed and thrive in any environment
- Acquiring skills and expertise for social and economic independence
We accomplish the objective through three pillars:

Participants actively contribute by visiting disadvantaged homes, volunteering in service projects, tutoring younger children, and running summer classes.
They also access pathways to capital for business opportunities, remote work, and internships, multiplying YBM’s investment into lasting social and economic transformation while practicing leadership and interpersonal service in real-world settings.

Students are equipped through music lessons, singing, ethics training, American Sign Language, various seminars, and diverse skills such as coding, computer literacy, plumbing, painting, and entrepreneurship.
They also develop crucial skills including interpersonal skills and understanding investments, supported by group mentorship and workshops that instill resilience, vision, and confidence to thrive in any environment.

We provide access to four years of university education in Africa for students who are academically gifted yet financially disadvantaged.
This program may cover tuition, books, and basic needs, ensuring that deserving scholars can focus fully on learning and growth. Soft skills such as communication and how to succeed in college are also integrated to help students excel academically and personally.

Each applicant is carefully reviewed to ensure they meet our standards, and promising candidates are also assessed for character, resilience, and commitment to community impact.
This balanced approach ensures we invest in young people who will both excel academically and give back to their communities.
